The fire industry is much the same as any other in that there are strict regulations as to the design, installation, commisioning and servicing of equipment. Service intervals for fire alarm systems is 6 months
maximum or 3 months for older systems or properties of
higher risk, fire extinguishers is 12 monthly intervals.
Emenrgency lighting is every 3 months.

Fire alarm panels - 10 years
Fire alarm panel batteries - 4 years
Smoke and heat detectors - 5 years
Fire extinguishers 10 years
